The discussion was moderated by the artist Anton Čierny and realized by Transkunsthalle, s.r.o. thanks to the support from the Fund for the Support of National Minorities.
The discussion was part of the MINOR MAXI 3 project, which presents visual artists of Hungarian nationality living in Slovakia. MINOR MAXI 3 takes the form of an informal discussion between the moderator and the artist, which is augmented by a visual presentation of the works and experiential moments from the artists' work.
We think of Erika Szőke as a photographer, but she often uses photographs to document events, installations or situations. Her immediate surroundings, her family and the place where she lives, her relationships and connections are the subject of her research.
Her vocabulary of expression is very open, sometimes even disturbing. She often reaches for unusual experimental practices, while also creating ephemeral objects and one-offs.
