On March 12th, 2022, the final event to accompany the Edmund Gwerk exhibition „Parallels and Paradoxes“ took place in the Jozef Kollár Gallery, a lecture by screenwriter and director Anna Grusková entitled "Determined and Brave: Dr. Alžbeta Gwerková-Göllnerová". Alžbeta Gwerková-Göllnerová (1905 - 1944) was an important literary historian, translator, Hungarian philologist, as well as the wife of painter Edmund Gwerk.

Influenced by the current war in Ukraine, with Russian troops occupying Ukraine’s sovereign territory and bombing and killing innocent people, the lecture focused on the activist and anti-fascist actions of Alžbeta Gwerková-Göllnerová during World War 2, actions which, ultimately, proved fatal for her. The lecturer, Anna Grusková, introduced us to the activities of Mr. and Mrs. Gwerk in the Slovak National Uprising, as well as to the anti-fascist resistance in Banská Štiavnica. The presentation also included two historical sound recordings commemorating the Gwerk family’s participation in the resistance.
